Lexus has named its new 1-series rival the CT200h. It’s the production version of the LF-Ch concept hatchback – and we’ll see the new CT range properly at the Geneva motor show 2010. The new BMW 5-series being launched this winter is likely to be the next BMW to receive the ActiveHybrid system pioneered on the petrol-electric 7-series and X6 models. BMW engineers admit they can't rely on sales of the pricey hybrid 7-series and X6 to justify the development costs, even though these range-topping halo hybrids were jointly developed with Daimler and GM. Senior sources have indicated that the new 2010 5-series will be the next BMW to get an ActiveHybrid model.
The 2012 Hyundai i20 Facelift arrives a bit earlier than Hyundai planned
The Hyundai i20 Facelift for 2012 has arrived a bit earlier than Hyundai planned, with the first photos arriving ahead of its Geneva debut. Update: Hyundai caught up with the news on the i20 facelift and confirmed the changes. But under the skin they’ve also had a play, with a new 1.1 litre 3-cylinder ‘U-II’ diesel which, when mated to Hyundai’s Blue Drive tech, delivers 74bhp and the lowest emissions of any car on sale with a conventional powertrain at just 84g/km.
